If you are an avid skateboarder, you will agree with me that there are times that you can’t wait till you get on your board. This is especially when you have been injured and you spend a couple of days of the board. During this time, there is this craving that you still can ride and you can believe that you were involved in an accident.
This is something which happened to me some times last year. I had been involved in an accident while skating and the back of my leg got sprained. After about a fortnight off the board – all this time I was been driven to school by my mum (something which really sucks) – I decided to try skateboarding down the street as I went to see my friend at his home. I had been home all alone had felt freaked out watching some scary movies.
I took my board and hit the street. I was careful because I had not completely healed. As I slammed on the ground, I felt awesome and could help wonder why I had been involved in the accident. I skated down the street and did not try any tricks till I came down to a sloppy area. I hadn’t planned to try any trick, but I saw a girl that I had always admired at school having a drink in a coffee lounge nearby. Down the slanting road there was a girl who was skating too and she was doing a few tricks.
A Silly Move
I felt challenged by both the skating girl and the desire to show off to my secret admirer. That said, I decided to try some kick flips. This went well and made me to look back at the coffee lounge to see if I had been noticed. Within a split of a minute I had a loud hooting which startled me. This made me to try halting the board abruptly but I must have been too confused because I was riding a bit fast and when I tried stopping the board it slipped from my legs and I came down landing on the ground.
Some motorist stopped to ask if I was ok, as tried to get up. I just told them that everything was all right although I could barely walk. One lady realized this and came to help me get into her car and drove me to the hospital. She later called my mum, who came to meet me with a plastered leg, because I had gotten fractured.
I knew that it would be long before I got back to skating, that is if my mum ever allowed me to skate again. I felt so embarrassed because of the whole incident especially as I remembered that the girl that I admired might have something to always joke about.
